Industry veteran and doyen Inder Sharma passed away on yesterday evening on September 4 in Delhi, India. His cremation today on September 5 was attended by a large number of admirers and friends.
Inder Sharma held virtually all travel industry positions in India and abroad, including PATA, TAAI, and WATA. He was awarded the Padma Shri honor by the government – the first travel industry man to be receive this honor.
He took his SITA travel to great heights, and later sold it and went into the business of hotels and malls.
Sharma is survived by son Arjun, daughter Neeraj, and wife Aruna who is a doctor.
