President James Alix Michel of the Republic of Seychelles has announced his resignation as President effective 16 October 2016.
The announcement was made on Seychelles Television before the 8pm news tonight.
In his address on national television President James Michel said that he would be submitting his official letter of resignation to the Speaker of the island’s National Assembly tomorrow Wednesday the 28th September.
Tourism is the biggest industry in Seychelles.
The political party of President James Michel lost the parliamentary elections earlier this month.
