CHARLESTON, West Virginia – On a Delta airlines flight from New York’s LaGuardia Airport to Nashville, Tennessee, the pilot of the plane called air traffic control to inform that they had to make an emergency landing due to a severe bird strike.
The hit was so severe that the windshield of the aircraft was badly cracked. The aircraft landed safely at 4:50 pm on Thursday, April 14, 2016, in Charleston, West Virginia at Yeager Airport with 57 passengers onboard.
Passengers were back on their way in a different aircraft later that evening.
